VienneMilano is pleased to be collaborating with Harvard Business School's Retail and Luxury Goods Club Annual Charity Fashion Show. Ariel Troy, Co-Vice President of the show, let us in on some of the behind the scenes preparation for this prodigious event. The Fashion Show will take place on November 15th in Boston, MA. Read below to find out more about Ariel and this splendid fundraiser!

Tell us about yourself.

Hi VienneMilano! I am a second year student at Harvard Business School. Before starting school, I worked at Theory as the Sales Manager of the Asia region. I absolutely love fashion and Asia - I've been studying Mandarin since high school - so it was a dream job! In my free time, I love traveling and trying new workout classes like 305 Fitness and Title Boxing Club.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I am going to work for The Boston Consulting Group. I interned with BCG the summer between my first and second year and am very excited to go back full time!

What is your role in HBS' Retail & Luxury Goods Club?

I am the Co-VP of the annual Retail & Luxury Goods Club Charity Fashion Show. The Charity Fashion show is the biggest event RLGC puts on and one of the highlights of HBS' social calendar. Last year, the show had more than 800 attendees and raised over $20,000 for The Greater Boston Food Bank.

Tell us about HBS' Charity Ball. What can attendees expect?

We are so excited for HBS' 10th annual Charity Fashion Show! The evening starts with a cocktail hour featuring a raffle and pop-up shop by M.Gemi. The show starts promptly at 10 pm and features 12 top designers including Alice + Olivia, Reformation, Steven Alan, Ted Baker and much more! We have 40 student models, the majority from HBS, and a few from our friends across the river at MIT Sloan. Our action-packed event ends with an after-party at ICON nightclub! The first 200 attendees receive gift bags worth over $150 including a gift card to our favorite hosiery brand - VienneMilano!

The HBS Charity Ball has been a success for 10 years, what will be different this year than in the past years?

Our event gets bigger every year! We have more student models than ever before. Additionally, this is the first year we are featuring a pop up from one of our sponsors. We hope attendees have a lot of fun trying on M.Gemi's new product while waiting for the show to start.

What are some of the brands HBS has worked with for the Charity Ball? How do you decide which brands to showcase?

We try to showcase brands that have stores in the area or a connection to HBS - like VienneMilano. It is very important for the Retail & Luxury Goods Club to have an impact in our community, whether that be by facilitating “see now buy now” shopping, working with Boston social influencers, or donating to a local cause.

How do you choose your models for the show?

Our models are chosen by popular vote! HBS divides each class year into 10 sections. We have the sections nominate models, run a walk-off, and then vote for a guy and girl to represent the section in the show.

This event gives 100% of the proceeds to the Greater Boston Food Bank. That's wonderful! Is this the same organization you give-back to every year?

This is the second year we are working with the Greater Boston Food Bank. We decided to work with The Greater Boston Food Bank again this year because of the impact it has in our community. We hope to continue the tradition next year as well!

Here at VienneMilano we are so thrilled to be a part of this event and cannot wait to see the show! Take part in this fabulous charitable event which takes place at Boston Park Plaza, on November 15, 2017.
